Terms & Conditions

Last updated 13 October 2026

Plain-English terms for using our website and booking a styling. We’ve tried to keep them fair, clear and short.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to any booking you make through it with Canterbury Christmas Bows (“we”, “us”). By using the site or confirming a booking you agree to them, so please read them first. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or make a booking.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

2. Our service

We hand-tie decorative Christmas bows for trees, gates and doors, on site at your home, in the suburbs listed on our website. We offer a selection of bow types and colours at the prices shown on the site.

Photos on the website are examples of our work. Because every bow is hand-tied, ribbon is chosen to suit your space, and screens display colours differently, the finished bows may vary slightly from the photos.

3. Making a booking

To make a booking you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • own the property, or have the owner’s (or strata / body corporate’s) permission for us to attach bows to the gate, door, tree or other item you choose; and
  • give us accurate contact details and address.

A booking is confirmed when you see the confirmation screen and receive our confirmation email. Please check the details straight away and tell us if anything is wrong. Times shown are in Melbourne time.

We may decline or cancel a booking if the address is outside our service area, the details provided appear to be incorrect or abusive, or we can’t carry out the work safely. If we cancel, we’ll tell you as soon as we can and help you find another time.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in Australian dollars. No payment is taken through this website when you book, and you should never enter payment card details into the booking form. You can pay by cash, card or invoice, and payment is only due once your bows have been hung. If you have a question about payment, email canterburychristmasbows@yahoo.com.au or call 0401 336 477.

5. Changing or cancelling

You can change or cancel your booking online right up until the day before your booking. Use the private link in your confirmation email to change the time, the bows or your details, or to cancel. Bookings cannot be changed or cancelled online on the day of the booking.

If you need to change or cancel your booking on the day of your booking, please contact us by phone on 0401 336 477 to arrange. If you’ve lost your link, email canterburychristmasbows@yahoo.com.auand we’ll do our best to help.

Sometimes we need to move an appointment because of weather, illness, safety or circumstances outside our control. If that happens we’ll contact you as early as we can to arrange a new time or cancel the booking.

There is no cost to change or cancel a booking. See our Booking & Cancellation Policy for the full booking and cancellation process, including gift bookings.

6. Access and your property

To help us do a good, safe job, please:

  • make sure we can reach the gate, door or tree on the day, and secure any pets;
  • tell us in advance about anything that could be damaged or make the work unsafe (for example delicate or freshly painted surfaces, loose fittings, or a gate or tree that isn’t sturdy); and
  • let us know if the weather or site conditions have changed since you booked.

We take reasonable care when attaching bows to your property. We may refuse or stop work if we reasonably believe it isn’t safe to continue, or if the item can’t support a bow. We aren’t responsible for damage that already existed, or that results from information you didn’t tell us about.

Once installed, bows are decorations exposed to the weather. Wind, rain, sun, animals, or interference by other people can affect or remove them, and we can’t control those things.

7. Your consumer rights

Our services come with guarantees that can’t be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that they will be provided with due care and skill and be fit for a purpose you’ve made known to us. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes those rights. If we fall short, you may be entitled to have the service provided again or to a refund or compensation, as the law provides.

8. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights in the section above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost opportunity or loss of enjoyment) arising from your use of the website or our services, or for anything caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or misleading conduct, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. Using this website

Please use the site only for its intended purpose: finding out about and booking our service. You must not:

  • submit false, misleading or abusive information, or book on someone else’s behalf without permission;
  • try to access the staff area, other people’s bookings or any part of the site you aren’t meant to use;
  • interfere with or overload the site, or use bots, scrapers or other automated tools against it; or
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Information on the site is general in nature and may change without notice. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and we aren’t responsible for their content.

10. Our content and photos

The website’s text, design, logo and photographs belong to us (or our licensors) and may not be copied or reused without our written permission, other than for your personal, non-commercial use.

We may photograph our finished work to show on our website and social media. If you’d rather we didn’t photograph your property, just tell us when you book or at your appointment.

11. Complaints and disputes

If something isn’t right, please email canterburychristmasbows@yahoo.com.au first so we can put it right. Most issues can be sorted out quickly and fairly.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to a booking is the one that was on this page when you made it. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed.
